Look no further…

If you’ve been wondering about why I haven’t been on here, or where I am, look no further: JANICEPIMENTEL.COM

New digs, new site, new blog. It’s great, really. Oh, and I’m not there, then I’m here, producing beautiful things:

I’m blessed to do what I love and love what I do, in a place where it lets me be me.

xo, Janice.

POW.

Christian Louboutin – Ronaldo in black x Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Speedy 35.  My two favorites, and all mine!

Yes, I’m doing just fine. ;)

Belated Valentine’s Day Love.

A surprise from my Husband. It’s one thing that he’s living out his dreams — it’s another when he constantly makes mine come true and then some.

To my love, thank you. I love you, now and always. xo

Aloha.

Oahu, Hawaii. It truly was an amazing first time experience – and I’m so elated that I had the opportunity to spend it with my husband.  I’m excited to go back again later on this year to see more sights, visit more family, and of course, steal a few more moments at Ala Moana (my favorite!).

27.

26 was nothing short of amazing, but 27 — well, you can see see above it started off just right… :)

Goodbye, 2010. Hello, 2011!

Before a write-up on here, I would often post a photo. For this post, it’s not required. Why? Because a photo — and even these words — cannot truly explain how 2010 was one of the most amazing years of my life. So many changes, stories, laughs, tears and everything in between. So many amazing people I’ve met, incredible feelings I’ve felt, places I’ve never thought I would visit, situations that became the changing points in my life. I can only hope — more so, expect — that this year will bring me more of that. I think we all can say the same in each other’s lives.

To you & yours — I wish you all a great 2011. :)

Red Lips

I was never a red lipstick kind of girl – I thought it would look funny on me. I loved the way it looked on other ladies, but because my complexion is much more darker and richer than others, I didn’t know if it would be too much for me; even then, I always wondered, how it would look on me and if I would ever have a chance to wear it out and about.

So, of course, when I received a Christmas gift full of beauty goodies the other day and it included Bare Escentuals’ Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick- Barcelona, I knew that it would be perfect for me. Not only does it define your lips since it works like a liner, lipstick AND plumper, but it also has vitamins A, C, and E. I can’t stress how much everyone should at least try this out once. By far, one of my favorite lipsticks ever!

Go get yours at Sephora by clicking HERE — you won’t be disappointed!

Shoulders

Lately, I’ve been CRAZY about shirts that have heavy accents on the shoulders. Thanks to the good people at H&M, I came home with this lovely olive green and white striped shirt (and for only $12.98 — amazing steal!) with great shoulder accents. I love it!

Shadow Play

A pair of my favorite boots taken with the SLR. I’ve been playing around with the camera lately and with these brand new lace-ups, so it was only fitting that it would be introduced on here. Ever since last year, I was on a constant search for flat, brown lace-ups and I was so fortunate to find them last month when the season was just beginning. The inside of these beauties have plaid inside, so when I laid my eyes on them I knew they had to be bought. Read the rest of this page »

Tick, tock.

The above watch was bought a few weeks after I moved from Winnipeg to Portland and it holds some amazing memories. This is definitely one of my favorite accessories that I wear on a daily basis — and I feel that if you ever have to invest on something to wear on a regular basis, you should definitely have a watch.

A Strange Arrangement

It was an eventful Tuesday night, to say the least.

After missing his first show at the beginning of this year, I didn’t want to miss Mayer Hawthorne’s next performance in Portland — and that I didn’t. Thanks to the good people at Mazda2, both the Mister & I were provided with two VIP passes — and as you can see above, we had an amazing time. Tons of food, photo booth photos, t-shirts and meeting Mayer (good times!)

I’ve found myself playing ‘I Need You’ & ‘A Strange Arrangement’ repeatedly in the car. Excuse me while I go swoon some more.

It’s Like Candy

Husband & I bought some bags of candy for the little Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween — figured it would be fun to give out some since both of us used to love going out for Halloween as kids. We bought a lot of my favorites — Hershey’s Cookies & Creme, Twix, Crunch, Kit Kat — and a lot of my Husband’s as well. It was a good time, especially since we got to see our Godson dressed up as Superman.

I’m glad that lately the both of us have been spending our weekends together doing so many fun things. A few weekends ago, we went to Roloff Farms (as seen on TLC’s ‘Little People, Big World’) and then after that, we went out to an amazing Cuban restaurant here in Portland called, ‘Pambiche”. Their Pollo Frito is so juicy (chicken & veggies) and to top it off, their Tres Leches Cake is definitely worth going back for.

Hanging it up.

My favorite pieces of clothing hang on the open rack in my husband & I’s bedroom. Currently, it’s all about Fall (my favorite season) so the items that I currently have hanging (and that are present) are:

  • Nike Sportswear Letter Jacket in Black, given to me in early September
  • Target Hooded Short Peacoat in Black
  • Gap Military Jacket in Beige
  • Vera Wang Ruffled Princess Sleeved Blazer in Black
  • Costa Blanca Blazer with Wide Collar in Gray
  • Cardigan in Mustard Yellow , gifted from my Mom
  • H&M Long Cardigan in Black
  • Joe Fresh Long Striped Shirt in Navy & White
  • BGBG Shirt in Purple
  • H&M Striped T-Shirt in Black & White
  • MNG by Mango Long Cardigan in Grey

Further on the right (not shown) are my two favorite dresses that still wear with tights, jeans, jeggings (love ‘em!) and leggings, along with some striped shirts. I swear by these clothes for Fall, along with my four favorite (& only pairs of!) boots.

Hello, again.

As another new season begins, I’m reminded why I fell in love with writing along with fashion. It could be because of all the talks of NYC Fashion Week, the changing of leaves on the trees, the sweaters and jackets entering the stores or the cooler temperature rolling in. Either way, the combination of both, to this day, still excites me and gives me the inspiration to write again.

In the past few months (let alone year), I’ve been put in situations that forced myself to learn more about who I am and what I want in my future. Even though fashion is a big part of my life, there are other parts that are equally as important. I’ve thought about ending Late Fabrication, and changing the name — which may still happen — but for now, I’ve decided to share things that I love, whether it be in life, in fashion, or just what’s on my mind.

Two previews of what’s coming:  (1) As much as I love heels as the next girl, flats are what I truly love wearing. Comfortable and easy to put on, I’m more than happy to sport my lovely yellow moccasins with a comfy sweater, which are perfect for low key days with my husband. (2) I love being inspired by what people say. So, for you readers, here are just some of my own personal pieces of advice worth sharing:

  • I love fashion enough to know that its not just the designer things that can make you fashionable — it’s your sense of style that will convey you to the next level. Always think ahead.
  • Love is truly unconditional when you are with the right person. Marriage is the commitment to that.
  • Family always come through for you, even when you think that you have lost your mind.
  • Do not settle for second best. Ever.
  • Be patient. Good things come with time.
  • If something is not happening for you, it doesn’t mean it’s never going to happen — it just means you’re not ready for it.

Get ready to see more things from me: from lists, to reviews on purchases & concerts, to some great things going on in the city that I now call my home. I have always said that I would rather love what I do than do something I would grow to hate, and lucky for me, I get to experience something that I love.

.

Don’t panic! I’m starting all over again. Look out for the brand new, all prettied up Late Fabrication.

COMING OCTOBER 2010.
