As another new season begins, I’m reminded why I fell in love with writing along with fashion. It could be because of all the talks of NYC Fashion Week, the changing of leaves on the trees, the sweaters and jackets entering the stores or the cooler temperature rolling in. Either way, the combination of both, to this day, still excites me and gives me the inspiration to write again.
In the past few months (let alone year), I’ve been put in situations that forced myself to learn more about who I am and what I want in my future. Even though fashion is a big part of my life, there are other parts that are equally as important. I’ve thought about ending Late Fabrication, and changing the name — which may still happen — but for now, I’ve decided to share things that I love, whether it be in life, in fashion, or just what’s on my mind.
Two previews of what’s coming: (1) As much as I love heels as the next girl, flats are what I truly love wearing. Comfortable and easy to put on, I’m more than happy to sport my lovely yellow moccasins with a comfy sweater, which are perfect for low key days with my husband. (2) I love being inspired by what people say. So, for you readers, here are just some of my own personal pieces of advice worth sharing:
- I love fashion enough to know that its not just the designer things that can make you fashionable — it’s your sense of style that will convey you to the next level. Always think ahead.
- Love is truly unconditional when you are with the right person. Marriage is the commitment to that.
- Family always come through for you, even when you think that you have lost your mind.
- Do not settle for second best. Ever.
- Be patient. Good things come with time.
- If something is not happening for you, it doesn’t mean it’s never going to happen — it just means you’re not ready for it.
Get ready to see more things from me: from lists, to reviews on purchases & concerts, to some great things going on in the city that I now call my home. I have always said that I would rather love what I do than do something I would grow to hate, and lucky for me, I get to experience something that I love.
